The Bauhaus University Weimar in Germany, represented by Prof. Dr. Bernd Fröhlich, an alumnus of GMD – Gesellschaft für Mathematik und Datenverarbeitung, supported the VRGeo Research and Development Team between 2005 and 2013. 

Christian Michelsen Research AS

Christian Michelsen Research AS was established in 1992 to carry out research as a limited company owned by the University of Bergen (UoB). The potential for increased industrial activity through focused development and the use of new technology form the basis of CMR’s activity. CMR’s activities range from technological research and development  to the construction of prototypes and the commercialisation of completed products. This is done in co-operation with our customers and the subsidiaries Prototech AS and GexCon AS.

Being nominated by Norsk Hydro, CMR joined the VRGeo Consortium in 2005 and left it in 2015 together with Statoil.

 

Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro

Tecgraf – Computer Graphics Technology Group – was created in May 1987 in a partnership with PETROBRAS’ Research and Development Center – CENPES – at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro – PUC-Rio. Its purpose is to develop, establish, and maintain computer graphics and user interface software for technical and scientific applications. Tecgraf is one of the laboratories from PUC-Rio’s Computer Science Department. Its projects are developed in cooperation with PUC-Rio’s Civil Engineering Department, the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics, National Institute of Spatial Research, and the Department of Naval and Oceanic Engineering at the University of Sao Paulo, being mediated by Padre Leonel Franca Foundation.

After a nomination by Petrobras, PUC Rio joined the VRGeo Consortium in 2003. PUC Rio left the consortium at the end of 2012.
