The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim represents academic eminence in technology and the natural sciences as well as in other academic disciplines ranging from the social sciences, the arts, medicine, architecture to fine art. Being nominated by Statoil, NTNU joined the VRGeo Consortium in 2005 and was an academic member until 2014.
In 2016, NTNU rejoined the VRGeo Consortium being nominated by ExxonMobil.
